The MSU Community Music Schools in East Lansing and Detroit bring the transformative power of music to individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. As divisions of the MSU College of Music, both schools are committed to providing high-quality, sequential music education programs and music therapy clinical services that are accessible and inclusive.
At CMS, music is seen as more than just notes on a page — it’s a way to build confidence, resilience, and connection. Through both music education and music therapy clinical services, students explore creativity, collaboration, and self-expression, discovering life skills that extend far beyond the classroom or performance stage. We invite everyone, from young learners to adults, to engage with us and experience the joy of lifelong music learning and the healing power of music.
